Living on the Gulf Coast for 33-ish years (born and raised literally on a boat) , you are used to Tropical messes of all kinds:  simple rain every day in the summer;  squalls that are worse than hurricanes, hurricanes that are wimpy, etc....

Then you get shit-storms like Ivan (Hit us directly), Katrina (Poor NOLA) and most recently, Harvey.  We flooded a bit where I am, and it was gnarly, but NOTHING compared to the poor folks of Texas.  

And now Irma is bearing down.  WTF Mother Nature?!!!  

We're trying to prepare our house and my relatives in case Hurricane Irma stays south and swoops right up into us.  So I really, REALLY haven't been on much.  I hope any people here that are recooping from Harvey, that you find relief, and for those that might deal with this new threat, stay safe.  

I've drawn a few things, in the downtime I've had.  And I hope ya'll enjoy them!   Sometimes the best way to forget real life stuff is to lose yourself in a book, art, show, etc.  It's good for the soul

Has anyone read "Orange" by Ichigo Takano, or watched the anime?  I stumbled upon the manga on Crunchyroll 2 days ago... and binged read the whole series that night.  After reading one of the most heartbreakingly beautiful, poignant, bittersweet stories I've ever read, with tears in my eyes, I texted my sisters and recced the shit out of "Orange".  It's one of those stories that will change your life and stick with you.  

I wish very much that I could send this story back to my college self.  Hell, even just a few years ago.

Depression is a hard subject to touch on now a days.  Wait, no... it's always been a hard subject, and difficult to process.  With information so freely found through internet now, there are more people talking and getting help more than ever.  

Yet, you can talk to friends and family face-to-face and not have a clue to their true emotional well-being.  Every day even.  They wish somebody would notice, but most of the time, when it's not acknowledged, the depressed,( in my experience), feel like they are not worthy of attention.  Or that they don't deserve it because of something they have or haven't done.  It's different for everyone.  I was lucky enough that my mother noticed and took me to the doctor by force.  Whether it's tragic accidents, life changes, chemical depression, etc...  Take the time to notice your loved ones.  Regret is a bitter pill to swallow.

That being said, go read this beautiful series.  

And if anyone knows how I can write to Ms. Takano and tell her how mush I adored her story please let me know!

I'm not sure what art I'll post soon.  I'd like to do some Orange fanart, I also just recently started Fairy Tail (I know, behind the times), and already have some Jellal and Erza pics planned.  Those who know my taste in characters, this should not surprise you lol.
