Katniss's Mockingjay uniformby *kara-lija

Just a quick sketch for future referencing. I designed this based on the vague description from "Mockingjay" by Suzanne Collins, the 3rd book in The Hunger Games trilogy.

I suppose I could've added more weapons, the book describes hidden weapons in her belt and boots. There are white folds under the arms, trailing down the sleeves in a feather pattern. It has 3/4 length sleeves and layers of armor over her chest. She also has a 3 tube quiver on her back holding the different tipped arrows Beetee made for her. Also, there's a hood attached around her neck (you can barely tell), but it's a nod to the "helmet" Cinna designed for her, it's protective enough I suppose, lets just say it has Cinna-magic. lol.

I always had a stylized military look in mind for this costume when I was reading the book, so I wanted it to stay simple, functional, and real. I thought, how would it move in real-life? So I designed the chest armor to scoop around the armpits for easier arm movement, and ended it in a empire seam for easy bending at the waist.

Anyways, I plan on doing a few pieces of her in this uniform, so keep an eye out!

Done in pencil with just a touch of Corel for texture...

I love this. I depicted her as wearing a form of sci-fi body armor made out of Kevlar and metal plates(similar to that of the assassins armor in Fallout NV.).

...also what about the gas mask they added? If you end up editing one in design it after the MF22 ([link]) gas mask.
