Random from My FAVES of faves

Has anyone read "Orange" by Ichigo Takano, or watched the anime?  I stumbled upon the manga on Crunchyroll 2 days ago... and binged read the whole series that night.  After reading one of the most heartbreakingly beautiful, poignant, bittersweet stories I've ever read, with tears in my eyes, I texted my sisters and recced the shit out of "Orange".  It's one of those stories that will change your life and stick with you.

I wish very much that I could send this story back to my college self.  Hell, even just a few years ago.

Depression is a hard subject to touch on now a days.  Wait, no... it's always been a hard subject, and difficult to process.  With information so freely found through internet now, there are more people talking and getting help more than ever.

Yet, you can talk to friends and family face-to-face and not have a clue to their true emotional well-being.  Every day even.  They wish somebody would notice, but most of the time, when it's not acknowledged, the depressed,( in my experience), feel like they are not worthy of attention.  Or that they don't deserve it because of something they have or haven't done.  It's different for everyone.  I was lucky enough that my mother noticed and took me to the doctor by force.  Whether it's tragic accidents, life changes, chemical depression, etc...  Take the time to notice your loved ones.  Regret is a bitter pill to swallow.

That being said, go read this beautiful series.

And if anyone knows how I can write to Ms. Takano and tell her how mush I adored her story please let me know!

I'm not sure what art I'll post soon.  I'd like to do some Orange fanart, I also just recently started Fairy Tail (I know, behind the times), and already have some Jellal and Erza pics planned.  Those who know my taste in characters, this should not surprise you lol.

Hey!! I thought you would absolutely adore this theme:…
It is about a dryad living in a willow and a young man who's fallen in love with her but she refuses him.
I thought it might be a great inspiration for your art. :)

P.S. You're awesome! Never stop drawing! *_*

I was taking a nostalgic trek through my old faves and realized how much I missed your art/interacting with you. Hope your surgery went well, and funny fail!story: I was totally in Mobile for an... extended period of time a little over a year ago and totally should have said hello.

Hope all is well and that you're back on the art track soon!

Ha! You turd!  You should've gotten in touch with me!  We could've hung out on the beach and drank some daiquiri's!!  And talked nerd stuff, of course.  :D  I miss you, and how involved I used to be on this site... and I hate that Real Life has been fighting me tooth and nail against my getting artwork finished.  Between family/kids, health issues, work, and the worst effing artist block I've ever had, I get like, 2 pieces finished a year.  It sucks. :/
I hope all is well with your life.  It's great to hear from you! What fandoms are you immersed in now?  I'm completely and hopelessly obsessed with Doctor Who, and David Tennant in general.  I got to meet him back in March!  He said my name in his Scottish brogue and I thought I was gonna melt.  Or jump him.  But I had my kids with me and so I thought of the children.  Sadly. Lol.

Stay in touch and if you ever head my way again, hollaaaaa at me!

Oh, ladyfriend, that would have been awesome. I'm seriously kicking myself for not getting a hold of you. If I'm ever around those parts again, I will wave flags and fire flares and send smoke signals.

Real life is the pits when it comes to wanting to nerd out, huh? But it sounds like you're living a pretty fulfilling life, though, so I guess it's not all bad.  c: I'm back over in Japan again for a couple of years, so my friends joke that I'm basically living out my own anime. Can't quite disagree with that; life is an adventure. Work sucks, though.

As far as fandoms go, I can only seem to find time to watch those short, one-season anime (although I'm a slut for some BBC Sherlock). Kill-la-Kill, Attack on Titan, a revival of interest in Samurai Champloo (OT3 at its finest), and then basically kicking it in all my old fandoms. I recently got into One Piece, though. Never held a flame for me, but my boyfriend made me watch it and now I think it's adorable. I got him hopelessly obsessed with Once Upon a Time, though, so all's fair in love and war. I still read Bleach, but only because Grimmjow is back. I pretty much hate everything else about it.

Uhm, speaking of Bleach, I sort of wrote a fanfic. That's based off that GrimmHime fanart you did ages ago. The chapters are even titled after NIN lyrics from "We're in this Together Now". You're even mentioned in the A/N because, well, inspiration and all that. *bites lip* eheheheheheheh...

Keep in touch!!!  xoxo
